Remember evangelism

Lately, on more than one occasion, I have been reminded of the need for the salvation of the lost. Everyday most of us are in contact with people who if they would die today, would step into eternity not knowing or having Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Psalm 67:1, “God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”

I think it would do us good as believers to re-read of the compassion of Jesus in Matthew 9:35-38. “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."‘“

Verse 36 talks about Jesus having compassion on the multitudes because they were weary and scattered. So many people weary, disillusioned, and emotionally anesthetized by the daily barrage of information overload; hungry for something real.

Lord ignite the flame in our hearts for You and Your heart for this generation; to reach out to those in our sphere of influence and to learn to pray the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous that avails much; to sow seeds of the fruit of Your Spirit that will bring forth the fruit of salvation. Ignite the flame in our hearts to not just be hearers, but doers of your word; to remain and abide in Your Presence daily, that we may be carriers of Your Presence to this multitude of those who are in need of Your love, grace, and salvation.
